I laughed to myself when I posted this cute squirrel last night on Facebook. I am always looking for clever things and poof there it was. I posted it late so the views didn’t start coming in till this morning. When I saw Mom this morning, I said “hey, what did you think of my squirrel?” she just laughed and said “you and those squirrels.” As I write, I believe the Knitting Squirrel has been viewed 865 times. Only to be beaten by the first squirrel I posted in the early fall with 1,184 views. Even my cute Brad Pitt picture only got 574 views!
So I have pondered this a good bit today. Why does everyone love the squirrels? Yes, they are a sign of Fall. But think about it, they are busy little buggers. Always working. Have you ever seen a lazy squirrel? It seems there is never enough acorns, and likewise, there is never enough time for knitting. Maybe that’s what we have in common.
Why do I think I am always knitting but nothing is getting done? That can’t be true because I have gotten the wreaths and the garland done for the shop window. I have completed 3 stockings….(ok 2 1/2), a pair of cute fingerless gloves, slippers that I frogged because I ran out of yarn, and I am sure there is something else I am forgetting. Not to mention getting thru our 1st Black Friday weekend! I bought yarn for two projects last night. Mom didn’t say anything when she rang me up but I knew what she was thinking…. But I am headed out-of-town again so I need it.
When I think about our customers and what they have done over the past couple of weeks it’s amazing too. I think everyone finished the sweater from the Kelbourne Woolens Winthrop class. June finished 3 large stockings (although I told her she would never get them done) with NO pattern..and they were all the same! Wish I would have taken a picture of those. A group of 5 or 6 finished the Nantucket Throw last Saturday. I have no clue how many GAP-tastics are complete. And the list goes on.
I guess my point is, and yes, I have one. Sometimes when our eyes are bulging out of our head we need to stop and check the acorn pile. We ARE getting things/knitting done!
Now 892!
Oh did I mention that I got the class schedule up for January? Done!
