Just when I think I am going to run out of great free patterns to post or that I might only have one, I get hit over the head with new ideas from Pintrest, Purlbee, or something a customer walks in with.
We received ITO this week. As I mentioned in my previous post it is from Japan, and has only been in the states since Nov. If you are familiar with Habu, it is very similar. Anyway we received 4 lines. Kinu – 100% silk noil fingering; Serishin – 100% silk ribbon/tape; Gima 8.5 – 100% Cotton lace; and Kouki – Ramie & Silk blend. If you click on the links you can see the number of projects that are popping up and that this yarn is becoming popular. Here are some free pattern ideas if you want to try it out. Of course their many other yarn substitutions for these patterns as well.
Icarus by Purl Soho is a crocheted scarf.
Lace Cotton Pochoette by windloop is knitted in a sport weight. Endless yarn possibilities. It might be stunning in WSK Twinkle Sock!
Silken Straw Summer Sweater by Purl Soho. My yarn pick would be the ITO silk tape.
If you are going to Sheep & Wool have fun. You can stop by and show us your goodies and tell us what you loved most.
Have fun!
