Happy Friday!
The pink Danada Cowl by Christy Becker is a new free pattern just posted on Rav. It is done in DK and uses 200 to 220 yds. When I saw this, I immediately thought of Dee, my dear Motorola friend that learned to knit last fall. She bought a single skein of Duck Duck 50/50 DK and has not found a pattern for it. So voila – here it is! I will be spending a few days with her in OC in mid Aug. and my guess is we will work on this and learn a few new techniques! Of course you can use any DK…maybe our new Breathless DK??
Seems like I must find a sock pattern these days, so I found Tadpoles by Jenna Swanson. You all know we have a ton of Sock yarn (someone makes sure we have more than enough).
Now this last pattern, the Isla Wrap by Jessica Vinson is worked in a sport weight yarn. And guess what? We just got Baah’s new Aspen in every color I think. It is a lovely Sport Weight merino/cashmere/silk blend. Mom is using it for a baby blanket and it may be her new favorite. It has a generous 330 yards, so this pattern can be completed with just 2 skeins. It is perfect for these cooler evenings we have been enjoying. Rumor is we are going to have an early fall so it may come in handy.
Hope to see you at the shop this weekend. The Aspen will be front and center with a few samples done up as well. We will take some pictures and post on Facebook as we get it displayed.
Cheers!
