I finished my Dragonfly Vary the Gate shawlette early this week. I haven’t taken a photo yet..but it is in the shop. Maybe Mom will post a picture. Anyway, I started working in the Cowgirl Blues Lace that we got in last week, and I just couldn’t do it. I was on size 3 needles and I just started asking myself “why am I doing this?” I am just not a lace weight knitter, and that is ok. Just like some people are not sock knitters. As a reward for making this self observation, I got out Mom’s Tweedy Stripey sweater out (using Breathless DK) to work on. It is so nice going to that big plump yarn… 🙂
With that in mind, when I saw these cowls I thought I would share them …eventhough it is the end July.
1. Garter Stitch Cowl by Kate Salomon. I know I say that I am going to knit things… and I always have the best intentions, and they don’t happen, but I am really really going to do this one soon. So wearable.
2. Geometry Study Cowl by Sara Duran- We have lots of DK weight yarn in the shop…but I’m leaning toward Lakes DK for this one for stitch definition.
3. 504 King West by the The Knit Cafe Toronto – For those that aren’t ready for heavier yarn and want to play with color, Cowgirl Blues Fingering is the yarn of choice here since it’s yardage is less. I love both of these color choices and of course partial to the green and navy…
I just wish I had more time!
Cheers!
Heather
