Every year in August, I attend a conference in Ocean City for Maryland Commissioners and County Executives. Why do I bring this up? One, I am glad it is over (Dee and I dread this every year) and two, it’s a sign and reference point for me.
As Dee and I were eating dinner at Hooked (which I highly recommend) I said, “well summer is over” and Dee came back at me with “summer is NOT over”. We debated back it forth both of us having valid points, but regardless, the kids are going back to school, and the grass is dead from lack of water. This morning, I looked out the window by the coffee pot, and sure enough the Dogwood Tree is looking pretty tired and shriveled. The Dogwood’s are the first to pop and the first to shrivel and that to me, is my sign that Summer is almost over.
When I saw that Veronika (YOTH) just released a beautiful FREE shawl pattern, Sun Kissed, I thought about waiting to post it till we received our Little Brother order that is on it’s way (the yarn she used), but then I thought… no, I better go ahead and post it because there is no time like the present, and it was meant for Summer. Have you seen it? Just as you would expect…pretty fabulous.
I hope everyone is enjoying the last days…
