If you spend any time at the shop, you know that Mom’s preferred yarn is anything Merino/Cashmere/Nylon (MCN). I constantly give her a hard time about it and tell her she needs to expand her horizons. I think she may have crossed over. The other day, after knitting a sweater in The Fibre Company’s Cumbria (60% merino, 30% masham, and 10% mohair), she said “I really really like this yarn.” I said “I know Mom.” She followed up with.. “no, I really really like it.” Of course I had to take the opportunity to tell her.. “I told you…”. This makes me happy. Not only because she comes around to my side, but finally she will knit samples in something other than MCN and Superwash.
Today I was in the shop and saw my Naima. It’s a popular pattern by ANKESTRICK that came out about a year ago.
It was a popular 2016 Rhinebeck sweater, and Mom wanted to make it for me. The length is adjustable, so she decided to make the shorter version. Here it is. I tried it on and it is a perfect fit. Thanks Mom.
New Yarns have arrived!
We have received our long awaited shipment of Jill Draper’s Hudson, which is a 240 yd Worsted weight with a lovely tight twist. We have sweater quantities too!
and we also have received our Western Sky Willow DK order, again sweater quantities. 🙂
I can’t wait to cast on something new. Here are some things I am thinking about.
Maybe I will finally get to start Alicia Plummer’s Campsite.
Or I might need Purl Soho’s Seed Stitch Mittens, for the upcoming Lacrosse season.
Or maybe just maybe I should start this Ellison by Melissa Schaschwary.
I just might have to pick my yarn tomorrow.
