I love clever. Any clever. Sometimes clever is complicated, but it is also the simplest things. I remember the first time I watched Paul, take off his socks, bundle them together and then throw them in the hamper. My thought was “that’s genius, now they will stay together and not get lost in the wash, never a lonely sock. His Mom taught him well.” But no that wasn’t it at all. It was that the weight of the 2 socks made it easier to throw and make the basket. Dumb me…but clever none the less (at least in my mind). LOL
I like clever tools. Like a crumber, those little knife like things that waiters use in fancy restaurants to clear the crumbs. I have a collection, because I started asking waiters if I could have them.
I love it when Google is clever too, like their Purple font with Rain tonight, as a tribute to the passing of Prince. Or Casapinka’s pattern names such as Welcome Back Garter. Seriously how great is that?? Oh and Casapinka will be at the Pop-Up Friday night.
I could list more things, but you guys will get tired of reading this…but my point here is that sometimes simple can be the clever and smart, which is almost always attractive.
Perfect example is Dami’s Something Gradient This Way Comes shawl. It is basic knitting and purling with a focus on color and width. The result is smart and head turning. We have Dami’s sample in the shop. She is offering the pattern for **FREE** when you purchase her Swish DK to do it. Yes, we have some now, but will have more at the Pop-Up.
Yep, I’m a sucker for clever.
I’ll be flooding your inbox with updates. Check us out on IG too.
