This is overdue, and I have a lot to share….I hate it when I get this behind. So I am going to just jump in!
- We will be OPEN Memorial Day – 11-5pm!
- We will be Vendors at the Frederick Fiber Fest – June 10th and 11th with a few yarn surprises! Can’t tell you about it now or it wouldn’t be a surprise would it??
- Podcast #3 is up if you haven’t seen it. Click here and click on the red subscribe button. We are planning a big giveaway once we hit 500 subscribers! Also, please leave a comment re: things you would like us to talk about..
While I was away, I got a fair amount of knitting done. I’m still working on Clue #2 of Joji’s StartingPoint MKAL and I started on the Undercover blanket (FREE Pattern). But I have also seen a couple of other interesting things that would be fun to start too. I will start with Urraca by Kristen Jancuk aka MediaPerauna Designs. I really like this simple tee. Notice the split hem, split sleeves, and detail up the side. Kristen, being a local gal, chose Magpie Fiber’s new Solstice yarn for the design, and of course we happen to have some.
Now, another pattern that has my attention, (but don’t tell Mom) is Alicia Plummer’s new sweater, Edgartown Light (30% off the pattern thru the Memorial Day Weekend). She takes a simple design and just adds a little detail on the cuff and hem to make it special. This pattern uses DK weight, so I could use Magpie’s Swanky DK or Little Fox Vulpine DK. The stockinette would be flattering on me too…Maybe if I start it now, it would be ready to wear in October…maybe…
Then I also found these new fun Aine Socks by Mara Catherine Bryner, designer of the Rose City Rollers, and Jelly Rolls. I’m sure everyone needs to start another pair of socks!
Ok, last one, I promise…and it’s a Free Pattern. We might have to do this one as a Shop Sample! It is the Magic Spring Shawl by Katerina Bobkova It comes in 2 sizes and is a fun shawl for the speckled yarn we love and have stashed.
So there you have it… all the current knitting stuff in my head.
Lots of new yarn headed our way this coming week…
Enjoy the long weekend!
