Happy New Year Everyone!!
I hope you all are settling into the post holiday season and are looking forward to what 2018 will bring. I know I am. I have been quiet here for awhile, and I probably should explain. Last fall, I decided to leave my Public Safety Sales career at Motorola and do something completely different. I am now a Sales & Marketing Rep for Ryan Homes (NVR). It has been a whirl wind of a transition, but I have completed the training program and now I sell new homes with a 10 min. commute and sleep better than ever. Hopefully this will allow me to at least stay current on the blog and podcasts. So that is that. Some customers have asked when we will be doing another podcast, and I promise we will be doing that in the next week. Thank you for your patience…
Now moving on to some things going on in the shop.
Knit night next Tuesday is ON. I got bad info from Luc on the basketball game and he is actually playing Wed. not Tues., so Mom wanted me to tell everyone. So sorry about this.
Mom is still working on her colorwork sweaters. She is more than half-way on 2 that I know of. We got the Kelbourne Woolens Andorra Collection (aka Courthney’s Yarn) in a little over a week ago and she started the Jenny sweater that day. Andorra is a Soft Sport Weight of 60% Merino Wool, 20% Highland Wool, and 20% Mohair. It comes in 50 grams and three shades of purple. This is the yarn that Courtney Kelly talked about on Podcast 7. Everyone must love it, because we just had to reorder…
Let’s see what else, oh I wanted to mention the Caitlin Hunter Kodikas KAL. Caitlin (aka Boyland Knitworks) is doing this for the month of January, and if you post progress pictures on IG and tag #kodikaskal she is randomly picking 4 winners for prizes. We thought we would join in and do this starting this Sunday and every Sunday in January from 1 to 4pm. Mom hasn’t done colorwork flat and says she is up for the challenge. Wednesday, she and picked a couple of combos out. Here are hers if you didn’t see it on IG. Yes, she is adding mohair, and no you don’t have to.
I was going to just find a Free Hat pattern to share, but then I found this fun and FREE All My Stitches shawl by Beata Jazek. She holds two strands of fingering together to get this effect. This would be great using Olann Sock or Woolenboon Skinny. I guess you could use DK as well which could be fun and warm! Key word WARM!

Cheers to the first blog of 2018! Thank you all for your continued patience and support! We have some fun things planned for 2018 and we couldn’t do it without all of you!
Cheers!
